As many of you will know, Nottingham has a long and illustrious history as the cultural centre of the UK, and arguably the world.

Below you will find a series of clues that will lead you to important locations around the city relating to Nottingham’s past and present. 

There are also some additional clues to help you find a place to eat nearby.

HOW TO PLAY

• Get into a small group (we recommend at least one local person per group!)

• Solve the clue to find the landmark

• Take a picture of yourselves with the landmark

• The most Nottinghamy photo of each landmark will get a prize

THE CLUES

1. Do you hear the songs?
   From a stage which Chaplin used to play
   Underneath a great glass ceiling
   (You can also eat here)
   

2. A beautiful threshold
   Once burnt by luddites
   It’s name flatters
   It’s JUST A HOUSE

   Fall back through time,
   To a Footloose decade
   They’ve got something pho everyone
   

3. Prince of thieves
   From whom we stole our name
   Just like Russel, Kevin, Taron, and Cary.

   A short walk, for a long Trip
   An old pub carved into caves much older
   Which hosted us last night
   

4. In the grimdark present
   There is only expensive plastic, created in Nottingham
   Straddling the far past, and a future 40,000 years away
   
   (Not the world, just the shop)
   

5. The more sinister twin
   Hear their roar, bringing folks together
   “Let’s say 12?”
   

6. This one is the Fothergill’s Architects Sign
   We tried to write a clue but ran out of time
   So please pretend it was dead smart

   That TV assures us Everybody Loves
   

7. The marketplace that isn’t square
   Guarded by a dragon (admittedly from a distance)
   Where Nottingham’s Independence flourishes

   A goat with a crown
   Is no less a King

8. Near the halls of justice,
   Celebrity mother watches over this house
   Built in her son’s name
   

9. Blended from the bottom
   Climb the stairs
   A glorified tram stop… with art

   Pizza crafted in the presence of the hand of God
