Patti Stiles: Mind the Gap - Classroom to the Stage
Improvisation is spontaneous play fuelled by acceptance and support. When we step from the classroom to stage we shift from playing as the aim, to using spontaneous play as a tool to develop stories to entertain an audience. This means developing an awareness of what we are doing and the impact it has on our partners and the work. Understanding what a story needs, whose scene it is, how we stay true to our impulse while we inspire our partners, playing with curiosity not control, embracing risk over repetition and learning that sometimes the best Yes in a scene is a No.
This workshop is suitable for all.
