What’s this Class?

This workshop invites participants to explore improvisation from an unusual starting point: a state of deep relaxation. We will begin with an improvised guided meditation, allowing participants to lie down, release tension, and access an inner landscape of imagination. From this state, I will guide the group through relaxation and awareness exercises that naturally lead into improvisation.

The aim is to show how performing from calmness and presence—rather than nervous energy—can unlock new creative possibilities. Participants will leave with:
· Tools to access relaxation before performing.
· A calmer, more grounded stage presence.
· New imaginative resources drawn from their inner world.
· A felt connection to body and breath that can support improvisation both onstage and in daily life.

This approach, inspired by techniques taught by Stanislavski and other actor-training methods, helps improvisers discover fresh ways of expressing themselves on stage and in life.

About your Teacher

I began teaching two years ago, offering special improv workshops and leading drop-in sessions at The VLC Playground. Last year, I expanded my teaching to regular improv and acting classes there, holding sessions three to four times a week while continuing with the drop-ins and special workshops. I’ve also led improv and acting classes and workshops at other schools across Spain, including Aldaia, Paiporta, Valencia, and Palma. Currently, I teach improv regularly at The VLC Playground, Set de Cinema, Espai Rebombori, and Estudio Ortiz, working with both adults and kids. I primarily teach in English, and also in Spanish.

In my special workshops, I focus on exploring ideas that are less common in the improv scene. I adapt exercises (with permission and credit where due) while developing my own original material, striking a balance between improv classics and my experimental work. This year, I taught my first weekend intensive at Improu and Onda (Aldaia and Onda, Spain)—Keep It Real: Authentic Acting for Improvisers—and my first festival workshop at Irreverente 2025—An Improvised Guided Meditation: Exploring the Inner Stage.
