The Exquisite Corpse
11am - 5pm
11am - 5pm
11am - 5pm
In tribute to the Surrealists, The Exquisite Corpse workshop will combine improv with other artistic genres to move beyond what improv "should" be, expand the realm of what improv could be. Combining elements of poetry, prose, visual arts, music, and movement, participants will immerse themselves in an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to improv. Recommended for both experienced improvisers looking to innovate, and new improvisers seeking to "get out of their heads" and just enjoy art for art's sake!
Students should possess be comfortable with core improv skills like accept-and-build (yes, and), listening, and justification. But most importantly a willingness - nay - an EAGERNESS to bend the edges of the art form in a collaborative and inclusive manner.
