What’s this Class?
This workshop focuses on creating dynamic stage pictures through walk ons, supportive background work, and physically committed ensemble roles. Participants explore how playing additional roles, from environmental elements to exaggerated physical characters, can heighten a scene, clarify the world, and externalise a character’s inner thoughts or emotions. Key takeaways include a clearer understanding of how to support the whole picture of a scene, confidence in finding where you belong on stage, and practical tools for making scenes feel alive without pulling focus.
Who’s this for?
Participants should be comfortable sharing stage space with others and using physical choices that support the scene in a safe and respectful way. They should be able to listen, respond to offers and support scenes. No specific format knowledge is required.
About your Teacher
I’ve been teaching improv comedy in Copenhagen for eight years, working across a wide range of formats, skills, and genres. I primarily teach short form, character work, narrative, and genre based improv, and I also coach performance teams in formats ranging from narrative plays to the Harold and deconstruction. I’ve taught at festivals including Impro Amsterdam, Karlsruhe Improv Festival, and Oslo Improv Festival.
I believe in creating a safe space where people can jump in, explore, and take risks without judgement. I learn best by doing, and I teach the same way, keeping people on their feet or actively watching rather than over intellectualising. I’d always rather try, fail, learn, and repeat than get stuck thinking about doing it right.
